Tristan Pollock

Tristan Pollock is Managing Director at gener8tor, where he is building the firm’s accelerator program in Nevada with a focus on energy and climate technology. gener8tor runs startup accelerator programs that connect founders with customers, investors, mentors, corporate partners, and public-sector resources. In Nevada, Pollock describes the program as a seven-week go-to-market effort designed to help promising energy startups access relationships that could otherwise take months to build.

On The Grove, the climate-tech interview podcast from Earth Onward hosted by Blake Newcomer, Pollock appeared in the episode “How Nevada Became a CleanTech Hub.” He made the case for Reno and greater Nevada as an overlooked center for energy innovation. He pointed to the Tahoe Reno Industrial Center near Reno, the Tesla Gigafactory, the country’s only active lithium mine, Redwood Materials, battery companies, geothermal and solar resources, storage activity, available land, relatively low energy costs, and a business environment with less red tape than many startup hubs.

Pollock also brought the perspective of a longtime ecosystem builder. Before moving to Nevada, he spent much of his adult life in Silicon Valley, founded and sold a social impact media company, and helped build a retail marketplace company. His work now centers on connecting founders to Nevada’s industrial, government, and clean energy networks.
